Lightning owner, Jeff Vinik, Expands Luxurious Real Estate Portfolio with New Palma Ceia Home Purchase
Jeff Vinik, owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and his wife, Penny, recently purchased a new home located at 908 S Golf View St. for $5 million. This purchase makes it the third home owned by the couple in the Palma Ceia area. The sale was a private transaction as the 3,592-square-foot home was not listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service. The Viniks paid in cash, as no mortgage has been filed.
The future of the property is currently unknown, but it is speculated that the house will be torn down, as it was built in 1948 and is significantly smaller than its neighbors. The Viniks’ home next door is roughly four times the size of the new property, with just under 15,000 square feet.
This recent purchase adds to the Viniks' impressive portfolio of luxury properties, including a home on East Jean Circle, and the penthouse at the Tampa Edition, for which they paid over $8 million last year. They also own a waterfront mansion in Sarasota on St. Armands Key, which they built after demolishing the original house on the property.
Although the Viniks' collection of luxury homes is impressive, it pales in comparison to Jeff Vinik's commercial holdings in the area. He is a partner in Strategic Property Partners, the development firm behind Water Street Tampa. Water Street is a hub of activity, with restaurant openings and street-level retail, and includes three apartment towers, office tower Thousand and One, the Tampa Edition, and the JW Marriott.
Jeff Vinik has been making a significant impact on the Tampa area for many years, and his efforts are evident in the city's growth and development. His most notable project is the development of Water Street Tampa, which has brought new life to the downtown area. The Viniks’ recent purchase in Palma Ceia shows their continued commitment to the Tampa community.
