Florida's Culinary Scene Shines with New Michelin Stars

Exciting news for Florida food enthusiasts: the Michelin Guide's 2024 selection for Miami, Orlando, and Tampa has added a sprinkle of star-studded excellence to our local dining landscape. The announcement, held at the glamorous Tampa Edition hotel, revealed that nine new Michelin stars have been awarded across the state, highlighting our vibrant and diverse culinary offerings.

Leading the pack is L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami, which continues to impress with its two-star rating, standing out in a total lineup of 26 star-awarded restaurants. This year, the guide has expanded its reach, featuring 149 restaurants that represent an astounding 38 types of cuisine.

Among the new entries, Florida's dining scene has broadened to include flavors from around the world, showcasing the best of Japanese, Peruvian, Vietnamese, and Scandinavian culinary traditions.

Here's a look at the new Michelin-starred restaurants by city:

  • Orlando: The city welcomed stars for Camille, Natsu, Papa Llama, and the esteemed Victoria & Albert’s.
  • Miami: New stars were lit at EntreNos, Ogawa, and Shingo, each bringing unique dishes and exceptional experiences to the table.
  • Tampa: Ebbe and Kosen have both earned their place in the Michelin guide, offering residents and visitors alike top-tier culinary adventures.

In addition to these stars, the guide awarded two prestigious Green Stars to Kaya in Orlando and Los Felix/Krüs Kitchen in Miami. These awards recognize their sustainable practices, which include sourcing over 90% of their produce locally and embracing eco-friendly initiatives.

Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the Michelin Guides, remarked on the growth of Florida's culinary scene since the guide's introduction in 2022. He noted, "Florida has proven itself as a leading gastronomic destination for travelers near and far." This year’s inclusion of Green Star restaurants for the first time also highlights a shift towards more sustainable gastronomy.

These accolades not only elevate the restaurants themselves but also affirm Florida’s status as a top culinary destination. Whether you’re a local food lover or a traveler eager to explore, these Michelin-starred spots offer flavors and experiences that are sure to impress.

For anyone passionate about fine dining and sustainable practices, this year's Michelin Guide selections are a testament to the rich culinary diversity and innovation thriving in our beloved Sunshine State.
